
The Supreme Court of Pakistan banned the MSG as it is harmful to consume. The product is totally banned for manufacture, import, export and human consumption. However, as per our observation MSG is neither harmful nor it leads to any life-threatening disease after its consumption. No consistent clinical data has been found that shows that the individual may be sensitive to Glutamate. We support our view based on the observation of several
committees, scientific research and re-evaluation of MSG across the world.
MSG
MSG is the Sodium Salt of the common amino acid Glutamatic acid is naturally present in human body, in foods and additives.
MSG is produced by fermentation of starch, sugar beets, sugar cane or molasses. This fermentation process is similar to the process in making yogurt, vinegar and wine.
Use of MSG is not harmful:
1.MSG has been used for seasoning on food in overall the world.
2. Human body treat the MSG in the same way whether it has been added in the food or has been used or added as a seasoning.
3. MSG has no adverse effects on human body
4. There is no evidence found that intake of MSG increase body weight.
5. MSG should not be consumed by individuals 3 grams or more than that.
6. A typical serving of food with added MSG contains less than 0.5 grams of MSG. 7. Use of MSG as addition to food is generally considered safe. Scientists does not have found any substance contrary to health of individual after its consumption.
